Telecom Law
Laws relating to the Telecommunications industry and its implementations are governed under what is called the Telecom or Telcom Law. The principle legislation governing the telecom sector of pakistan currently is the Pakistan Telecommunications (Re-organization) Act, 1996 (PTA Act). Under the PTA Act, the regulator namely Pakistan Telecommunications Authority is constituted which regulates all matters pertaining to the sector.
Apart from the above-mentioned parent legislation which holistically governs mostly all matters relating to the telecom sector, there are numerous other legislations as well which are as follows and may or may not apply to a given circumstance:
